I met Flora at The Burklyn Business School for entrepreneurs in the early 80's. I began working as a production manager for the company that produced the school and a series of nationally distributed seminars. Flora was one of the traveling production managers and oversaw the onsite production with a local group.

Her primary duty as a National Staff Supervisor was to create the proper atmosphere, logistics and environment for the seminar through the behaviour of the local groups many of whom were volunteers. We required a heart-friendly, open "space" that would welcome our participants and support them to discover what their actual knowledge and behaviors were and whether they were in alignment with the best management theories and practices. In addition, she was in charge of all logistical aspects of each event. As such, Flora excelled in an area where we required the utmost integrity and genuineness from both her and the staff she was coaching. My conclusion on this is based on my own personal experience as well as reports from both the seminar instructors and the local city entrepreneurs who hosted these events. I recently had the pleasure, and I do mean pleasure, of having Flora work with me in managing my recently departed Mother's estate.

In the two days she was with me, we accomplished more than I had been able to do alone in two months. By far, the most important aspect of what she did was psychological. What I brought to the activity was dread. She said "this is going to be fun!" She set the tone of the days without losing respect for my mother and me. She took the time to savor my mother's treasures with me when I needed to do that. She took a few minutes and made minor shifts in furniture that resulted in transforming a messy, chaotic, dull area into an inviting, neat, conversation-fostering living room, which really helped me work there.

The actual work accomplished involved several weeks of practically non-stop organizing, cleaning, sorting, purging, inventorying, and even refinishing a piece of furniture we would have otherwise thrown away. ND, Sausalito, CA

Hi Flora, You'll be pleased to know that the labeling and file structure you set up for GMHS (now Continuum Health Partners) is still intact. They are now moved into the new Management Center and we just completed a full on DesignShop there last week with over 50 participants.

Your arrangement of files made it possible to recover hypertiles we created when we first arrived. Many more files have been added. Though the electronic infolog system appears to have been abandoned for now, the hard copies are still used and re-used. New files are going in with the infolog number and label, but without the electronic data base counterpart. Your contribution to that facility is still alive in spite of computer systems coming and going, and a physical move to an new space.You can quote me on that any time you like.
